A fresh insight into the ongoing fallout playing out between La Liga giants Real Madrid and super agent Jorge Mendes has this week been provided.

For those not aware, the name of agent Mendes has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital over the course of the last week.

As much comes after the Portuguese played a key role in Lille sensation Leny Yoro turning down the advances of Real Madrid, to ultimately take his talents to England with Manchester United.

This came fresh on the back of Mendes also sourcing a new home for one of Los Blancos’ most highly-regarded young talents, in Paulo Iago.

Such developments have given rise to an inevitable strain in the relationship between the parties, with the board at the Santiago Bernabéu growing increasingly fed up with Mendes’ behaviour.

And yet, if the latest word doing the rounds in the media is anything to go by, the super agent may yet have one final summer transfer blow to deal Florentino Pérez and co.

As much comes amid the ongoing efforts of Real to tie goalkeeper Andriy Lunin down to a new contract.

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘It doesn’t seem like the best climate for a negotiation that is already strained’, with Lunin, as a result, ‘leaning towards an exit’.

It now remains to be seen whether a middle ground in negotiations between Mendes and the European champions can be found.
