Sudbury Wolves Goaltender Commits To RPI NCAA School
Another OHL player is making the exciting jump to the NCAA to play for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
Sudbury Wolves' number one goalie Nate Krawchuk has announced his commitment to play D1 NCAA hockey for RPI beginning next season. He joins newly signed teammate Jack Ziliotto who is headed to the same school in the fall of 2025.
We would like to congratulate Sudbury Wolves goalie Nate Krawchuk on his commitment to play DI hockey at RPI University for the fall of 2025! We are extremely proud and excited for Nate and his next chapter! @RPI_Hockey @krawch001 @Sudbury_Wolves #HailToThee pic.twitter.com/Z4uNg8P1gy

The Thunder Bay, Ontario native is playing in his third OHL season with the Wolves and has assumed the role of their starting goaltender after sharing the crease with Finn Marshall to start the year.
Marshall dealt with an injury early in the first two months of the season and Krawchuk had to carry the mantle all by himself.
Krawchuk has posted a .907% save percentage, which is seventh-best in the league, but second-best amongst goaltenders with a minimum of 30 games played. In 33 games played this year, he has a record of 16-11-5 with a goals-against average of 3.16.
He's averaging 31.3 shots against per game and has faced 40-plus in eight games. In those eight games, he's posted a 4-1-3 record and a save percentage of .918%, displaying that he can handle a heavy workload and keep his team in games when getting shelled.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound netminder was an excellent pick by the Wolves in the 2022 U18 OHL Priority Selection, taken third overall.
In 74 career OHL games, he has a winning record of 35-24-6, while posting a goals-against average of 3.19 and a save percentage of .897%.
Not many people expected Sudbury to be in the position they are today heading into the 2024-25 OHL campaign. Yet, here they are, sitting in sixth place of the Eastern Conference and were buyers at the OHL Trade Deadline.
They are in a bit of a slump right now, having lost their last five games, but if they can turn it around right before the playoffs start, could they possibly upset one of the top teams in the East in the first round? If they do, Krawchuk will have a lot to do with that.
