Only one year after leaving RC Strasbourg Alsace for a whopping €18M fee, Habib Diallo (29) could return to the Alsace outfit, which is pushing forward to bring back the Senegalese striker, reports Foot Mercato.

Habib Diallo’s journey in Saudi Arabia has failed to live up to expectations so far. With Al-Shabab, the centre forward has logged only six goals and four assists in 33 games across all competitions. With Strasbourg being on the market for a new striker, the Alsace outfit is desperate to bring their former star back to the club. During his last season with Le Racing, Diallo logged 20 goals and one assist in 38 games. An outstanding season that helped him earn a massive move to Saudi Arabia, who is let to unfold in the right way. At 29 years old, Diallo could return to France, and Strasbourg have growing confidence to bring their striker back.

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Strasbourg have received a massive boost in their hopes to sign Diallo. While Brest is now likely to be out of the race to sign the Senegalese international due to the recent transfer of Mainz’s striker Ludovic Ajorque (30), Al Shabab seems to have found Diallo’s successor. With Al-Ittihad having recently strengthened their offensive unit with the arrival of Moussa Diaby (25), Al Shabab have signed Al-Ittihad’s star Abdelrrazak Hamdullah (33), who logged 29 goals in 38 games across all competitions last season, finishing as the Saudi Pro League’s third top scorer behind Cristiano Ronaldo (39) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (29). An arrival that could push Diallo towards the exit after a disappointing season.
