Steven Stamkos Exits Predators Game vs. Jets with Apparent Injury

Not long after Luke Evangelista suffered a lower-body injury, Steven Stamkos suffered an injury of his own, leaving the Nashville Predators down to 10 forwards against the mighty Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night.

Stamkos, 34, played 9:30 of ice time, won one of five faceoffs, and was on the ice for a goal against before leaving due to injury. The two-time Stanley Cup champion hadn't played for the Predators after 12:19 of the second period.

A video replay showed Stamkos circling in the neutral zone before bumping skates with Jets defenseman Dylan Coghlan, who was simply watching the play develop in front of him near the boards.

Stamkos fell to the ice before quickly getting up and skating to the bench, seemingly exasperated.

The Predators were down 3-0 when Stamkos left due to injury and ultimately lost 5-2. The Predators did not provide an injury update on Stamkos, so his status is currently unclear at this time.

Stamkos was on a three-game point streak prior to his injury, with five points in his last five games. Overall, the future Hockey Hall of Famer has 12 goals, 13 assists, and 25 points in 41 games this season.

This is a developing story.
