Just like the scoreboard, the analytics were not kind to the Canucks. The Oilers won the even-strength scoring chances battle 25-19 while also recording 12 even-strength high-danger chances compared to Vancouver's three. Ultimately, it was another poor performance for the Canucks as, despite generating over 25 shots, they could not create quality chances.

As for the heatmap, it is a good representation of Vancouver's problematic play. Edmonton was able to get to the front of the net with ease, while the Canucks barely tested Calvin Pickard. While there were some bad goals by Thatcher Demko, the team around him defended poorly, which resulted in a 6-2 loss.

In the end, the only positive from an analytics perspective was the play of the Pius Suter, J.T. Miller, and Brock Boeser line. During their 11:57 of ice time, they outscored the Oilers 2-0 and finished with a 6-3 shots advantage. Even though the trio was unable to generate a high-danger scoring chance, they performed decently in both the offensive and defensive zones.
