Thursday's game was the definition of low-event hockey. While the Canucks won the even-strength scoring chances battle 21-19, the Kings recorded more even-strength high-danger scoring chances by a count of 8-6. Ultimately, it was yet another game where Vancouver's offence disappeared, as they were outscored 4-1 at even-strength.

The heatmap from Thursday is not a good representation of the game. Since the Canucks continually gave up odd-man rushes, the Kings were able to create multiple scoring chances from right in front of the crease. In the end, while L.A. didn't record many shots, they made the most of their chances and were able to walk away with the victory.

To wrap things up, one of the few players who looked engaged was Quinn Hughes. During his 22:21 of even-strength ice time, which was more than any other player for Vancouver played in total in the game, the Canucks held a 13-6 shots advantage and won the high-sanger scoring chances battle 4-2. Hughes once again showed why he is the captain of this team as he attempted to drag his team back into the game until the final whistle.
