The Canucks ended their six-game road trip with a thud as they were embarrassed by the Jets. Winnipeg dominated on the scoreboard and, from an analytics perspective, winning both the even-strength scoring chances battle (20-13) and the even-strength high-danger scoring chances count (12-5). What makes this night worse is that the Jets had an xGF of 2.31 at even strength, yet still were able to beat Kevin Lankinen five times with equal skaters on the ice.

As for the heatmap, it is hard to look at. Winnipeg absolutely dominated the crease in front of Lankinen, with the Canucks unable to book out virtually anybody throughout the game. Overall, it was one of Vancouver's worst performances of the season as their defence struggled to keep the Jets under control.

To wrap things up, the Canucks did get some strong performances from the Keifer Sherwood, Pius Suter and Danton Heinen line. During their 6:54 together, Vancouver held a 4-2 shots advantage and won the scoring chances battle 3-0. All three members of the line also recorded a hit, with Sherwood hitting double digits for the sixth time this season. While it is good that the Canucks are getting strong play from their bottom six, it is not a great sign for the team that this trio was the only line that had a strong night for Vancouver against Winnipeg.
