The Dallas Stars had some fun trolling on Twitter this weekend, something NBA teams will be doing a lot less of now under the league’s modified social media policy.

The NBA sent out memos to all 30 teams prohibiting them from “mocking or ridiculing” other teams or officials, so the Stars responded by taking a shot at both the league and their opponent on Sunday, the Nashville Predators.

Nashville of course played a long with a clever response of its own.

Dallas and Nashville proved just how good of friends they are by fighting three times in the first period, including a Ryan Johansen versus Cody Eakin tilt just 24 seconds in.

The Twitter-famous Sacramento Kings decided to join the fun later in the night and provided the Stars a shoulder to cry on after they blew a 3-0 lead in a 5-3 loss to Nashville.

The Kings are probably part of the reason the NBA implemented the new policy, as they have had a little too much fun lately on Twitter, especially giving the Cavaliers a hard time after beating them in Cleveland in January.

Sacramento and the Atlanta Hawks trolled the NBA’s new policy brilliantly during their Saturday night tilt, exchanging some hilarious tweets.

The Kings filled their NBA trolling void by taking a parting shot at the struggling Stars.
