Stars Fans Rage As Dallas Defender Leaves Game With Injury
The Dallas Stars have inched ever closer in recent weeks to the top of the Central Division, and were looking to notch another two points on Tuesday night against the Vegas Golden Knights. While the Stars did take home a 4-3 overtime win, Dallas did lose defenseman Miro Hieskanen to a lower-body injury.

Miro Heiskanen has been putting forth an expected output this season, as the Finnish blue liner has tallied 24 points in his first 49 games. The seven-year veteran collected his 25th point of the season on a Mavrik Bourque goal to even the score in the Stars' Tuesday night matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights. Both teams would ultimately trade goals, forcing the game to overtime, where the Stars would come out on top thanks to a Wyatt Johnston game-winner.
The Stars were able to take home the win against their Western Conference rivals, but now hold their breath after their top defenseman went down on a questionable play during the third period. Hieksanen was attempting to take the puck out of the Dallas zone when Golden Knights captain Mark Stone lost his footing and fell into the defender's knee, causing him to collapse to the ice in pain. Stone would be assessed a tripping penalty for the infraction, while Heiskanen would need assistance to the locker room.
Stars fans, as well as fans around the NHL, have cried foul for the play, with the video going viral. Whether premeditated or accidental will be left up to the Department of Player Safety. The Stars will conduct a multitude of tests to determine Heiskanen's status and hope the star will not miss more than a handful of games. The Stars will be back in action on Friday night as they face off against the Vancouver Canucks back at home at American Airlines Center.
