Star safety Bud Clark will return to TCU football for senior season

TCU safety Bud Clark has announced his intention to return to the Horned Frogs for his senior season.

TCU football received great news Saturday afternoon when star safety Bud Clark announced on social media he would be returning for his senior season.

Clark, a multi-year starter, considered entering the upcoming NFL Draft, but opted to return for one last ride with the Horned Frogs. His message on social media was simple.

“I’m back,” Clark said in a graphic that also has ‘unfinished business’ at the bottom. Clark thrived in Andy Avalos’ first year at defensive coordinator as he had a career-high 68 tackles, three interceptions, three passes defended and a forced fumble.

Clark was voted second team All-Big 12 and was graded as a top-five safety nationally by Pro Football Focus. Clark has 11 career interceptions including a pick six in TCU’s College Football Playoff win over Michigan in the Fiesta Bowl in 2022. He’ll be one of the top safeties in the country next season.

Beyond his impact on the field, Clark is a proven leader in the locker room with his joyful approach to the game. With the return of Clark and rising junior Jamel Johnson, the Horned Frogs’ safety room could be one of the strongest position groups on the team.

TCU also signed transfer safety Kylin Jackson from LSU.
