The Vegas Golden Knights have six players remaining from the 2017-18 expansion team that shocked the hockey world by reaching the Stanley Cup Final during their first season.

Forwards Jonathan Marchessault, William Karlsson, Reilly Smith and William Carrier and defensemen Shea Theodore and Brayden McNabb will be working for a better result this year after losing in five games that season to the Washington Capitals.

"It doesn't come around too often," Smith told reporters on Friday. "You have to make the most of our opportunities, and I think everyone in the locker room is excited about the chance we have in front of us."
