Standouts From Week 16 Of The 2024-25 WHL Season

Welcome to THN's "WHL Standouts From The Week" article. In this weekly column, we highlight one player from each division who impressed over the last week. Here is a look at the four standouts from week 15.

Berkly Catton/Andrew Cristall- Spokane Chiefs

It's truly impossible to separate the two at this point, and it's not difficult to see why. Since Cristall was not named to the 2025 Canadian World Juniors club, he and Catton have been making up for lost time and combining for 31 (!) points in five games since the former was acquired by Spokane at the 2025 trade deadline. It would be fairly safe to say, the Cristall/Catton connection has been electric from the jump.

Rilen Kovacevic- Prince Albert Raiders

Entering the league as a tenth-round pick of the Kelowna Rockets, Kovacevic has made gigantic strides in his game. Acquired by the Raiders at the trade deadline, the 2004-born forward has a point in each of his six games in Prince Albert while also recording a goal in his first four.

Ryder Ritchie- Medicine Hat Tigers

As previously mentioned, Ritchie has found his stride in Medicine Hat. Going without a point in his first four games this season, the Minnesota Wild draft pick has been held off the scoresheet just three times since; including riding a six-game point streak, where he's potted six goals (three of them in his last two games) and added five assists.

Cole Reschny- Victoria Royals

Have yourself a week, Cole!

The 2025 NHL Draft prospect has been on a tear as of late, recording nine points in his late four games- six of them in a back-to-back against the Kamloops Blazers. Reschny is also contributing at big times, helping open up the scoring on Friday as well as getting a helper on an insurance goal to propel his team to a 7-1 victory.
