St. Louis Blues Player To Watch Vs. Vegas Golden Knights: Philip Broberg
Our St. Louis Blues player to watch on Friday against the Vegas Golden Knights is Philip Broberg.
The defenseman, signed to an offer sheet by the Blues on Aug. 13, has gotten off to a solid start with his new team through the first two games.
After playing 20:23 in his Blues debut on Tuesday in a 3-2 win against the Seattle Kraken and scoring his first Blues goal, Broberg followed up an extremely solid game with an assist, five shot attempts and an even rating in 18:27 on Thursday.
So far, he and partner Justin Faulk have worked well together. Broberg has displayed the ability to skate pucks smoothly and will be challenged tonight against a very aggressive and high-volume, shot-heavy Vegas Golden Knights.

It'll be interesting to see how Broberg handles the pressure Vegas will bring, and he, along with the rest of the Blues' defense unit will need to be on high alert and relieve as much pressure on Jordan Binnington as possible.
The Golden Knights know the Blues are playing the second game of a back to back and will want to apply as much pressure and have as much zone time as possible.
The Blues got Broberg for these types of situations and it will be a great test to see the maturation continue to grow. His willingness to jump into the rush and contribute to the offense can be crucial to helping the Blues sweep this season-opening road trip.
