Spurs centre-back Van de Ven produces extraordinary assist
Micky van de Ven is an astonishing footballer. The Spurs centre-back produced a jaw-dropping assist during his side’s clash with Manchester United as the Dutch defender turned on the accelerator at Old Trafford.
Van de Ven set a new record as the fastest footballer in Premier League history last season and showcased his remarkable pace once again this weekend.
After intercepting a loose ball inside his own half, the 23-year-old charged forward into the Manchester United half. Motoring past a clutch of trailing red shirts, he powered into the penalty box before squaring for Brennan Johnson to tap home the opening goal.

It’s not even the first time Van de Ven has produced such moment this season. The Netherlands international went box-to-box in another barnstorming run before setting up Son Heung-min to score against Everton in August.
Has there ever been another Premier League centre-back capable of such dashes? Will there ever be again?
