Edmonton forward Adam Henrique (hen-REEK') is set to return to action tonight when the Oilers host the Dallas Stars in Game 3 of the N-H-L's Western Conference final. Henrique was injured in Game 5 of Edmonton's first-round series against Los Angeles and made a brief return in Game 2 of the second round against Vancouver. The Stars, meanwhile, say centre Roope Hintz (ROO'-peh HIHNTZ) will be a game-time decision. The series is tied 1-1.

Scott Arniel (ar-NEEL') says he is taking experience from the last 12 years into his new role as head coach of the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets introduced Arniel at a press conference today after announcing Friday that he was being elevated from associate coach. Arniel was last a head coach 12 years ago with Columbus, but says he is better prepared for the responsibility today.

Bianca Andreescu (an-DRESS'-koo) was victorious in her return from an injury layoff of nearly 10 months with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Spain's Sara Sorribes Tormo at the French Open. The 2019 U-S Open champion hadn't played since sustaining a back injury at the National Bank Open in August. Fellow Canadians Felix Auger-Aliassime (oh-ZHAY' ah-lee-ah-SEEM'), Leylah Fernandez and Denis Shapovalov (DEN'-ihs SHAP'-oh-VAHL'-ahf) also won their first-round matches today.

The Boston Celtics can sweep their way into the N-B-A final with a win against Indiana tonight. The Celtics lead the Eastern Conference final 3-0 after posting a 114-111 win on Saturday. It was the Pacers' first home loss of the post-season.

Bill Walton, a Basketball Hall of Famer who became a star broadcaster, has died after a prolonged fight with cancer. He was 71. Walton was the N-B-A-’s M-V-P in the 1977-78 season and a two-time league champion. That followed a college career in which he was a two-time champion at U-C-L-A and a three-time player of the year.

World champion Rachel Homan is joining forces with Alberta skip Brendan Bottcher for the upcoming curling season. Homan announced today that Bottcher will coach her Ottawa-based four-player team, while the two will team up in mixed doubles with an eye on the Olympic trials. Homan is coming off a stellar 2023-24 campaign which included Canadian and world titles.
