Sporting Kansas City puts the clamps on Austin FC with goals from two players

Tim Leibold and Stephen Afrifa scored as Sporting Kansas City beat Austin 2-0 in a Saturday evening Major League Soccer match at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas.

Leibold scored in the 26th minute off a corner kick and Afrifa doubled KC’s lead in the 69th on a feed across the goal from captain Johnny Russell.

The hosts held only a slight edge in time of possession but took far more shots — 14, in all, to just two for Austin.
