Spalletti welcomed back by Napoli fans and plans charity gift
Italy coach Luciano Spalletti received a warm welcome as he returned to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and tomorrow will donate his custom Napoli Scudetto car for charity.
The tactician will always be a hero to the Partenopei after ending their 31-year wait for a Serie A title, taking them to victory in 2023.
He walked away and a couple of months later was appointed as the new coach of the Italy squad.
Spalletti back in the stands for Napoli
It is in that role that Spalletti is in the stands of the Stadio Maradona this evening to watch Napoli’s Serie A game against Monza.
The local fans greeted him with chants and a banner assuring they were ‘waiting for you’ in the stands of the Curva B.
He will remain in the city overnight, as tomorrow he will visit the Santobono Hospital for children and donate a very special vehicle to raise funds for them.
When he won the Scudetto, Napoli supporters gave Spalletti a custom FIAT Panda painted in the club colours and with a vista of Vesuvius over the Bay of Naples.
The players in that title-winning team also signed the bonnet in gold pen.
