Spain vs England Euro 2024 Preview: Odds And Best Bets

Both of these nations have won major tournaments in the past, but it has been a long time for both of them. Netherlands were European Champions in 1988, England have never won this title but are looking to return to the final after achieving that feat in 2021.

Spain vs England Latest Odds

It has been well documented that it is the general belief of many that Spain have been the most impressive team at this tournament. They have scored the highest number of goals and they have dispatched Germany and France in consecutive knockout rounds, playing some fluid and attractive football along the way. They are well deservng of returning to the final of a major football competition for the first time in a decade.

England have been to a Euros final only three years ago, and this run has come in a similar way to the last one. England won their group and ended up on a side of the knockouts draw that has probably been quite beneficial to Gareth Southgate and his squad. However, they have done their job whilst many others around them have failed to deliver, and this is a massive chance to win a second major trophy after the 1966 World Cup.

What are the best bets for Spain vs England?

Fabian Ruiz over 1.5 shots & Kobbie Mainoo over 0.5 shots – 23/10 with BetMGM

Fabian Ruiz has been an underrated part of Spaom’s attack all throughout the tournament and he completed his build-up with another two shots against France, despite Spain only having six in total. Kobbie Mainoo continued his run of having at least one shot in every England start so far with another one fired from the edge of the box against Netherlands. That makes it five starts, seven shots, and at least one shot in all five for Mainoo for England.

Jude Bellingham to be booked – 12/5 with Bet365

Bellingham has been flying into tackles all throughout the knockout stages. Whether it is desperation, effort, a lack of match sharpness, or simply an attitude issue, is difficult to ascertain, but teh yellow card that he picked up for a challenge against Netherlands had been coming, and with everything on the line here he isn’t going to worry about a potential ban for the beginning of the World Cup qualifiers.

Key players expected to impact the Spain vs Germany match

Phil Foden

The Premier League Player of the Year has taken some time to come to the boil in this tournament, but his first half performance against the Netherlands deomnstrated what Foden is capable of. He constantly found pockets of space between players in the Dutch midfield and defence and had a number of efforts on goal, including one cleared off the actual goal line and one long range effort off the post. It feels like he is getting closer to making a really telling contribution, could this be in the biggest game of all?

Lamine Yamal

Yamal finally put the ball in the back of the net in the semi-final against France with an absolutely top-class goal. The 16-year-old has lit up the tournament and will surely be keen to start his career with a huge contribution to a huge trophy for  his nation. It will be a difficult task for whoever plays on England’s left to track him, but it is imperitive for England to come up with a plan to contain Yamal.
