Spain star left limping & furious after post-match clash with security guard

A leading member of the Spanish national team’s attacking ranks was left with a potential injury, owing to a bizarre post-match incident on Tuesday.

Spain, of course, are fresh off booking their place in the finale of the European Championships.

After locking horns with France in a highly-anticipated semi-final clash, Luis de la Fuente’s troops recovered from an early deficit, to emerge on the right side of a 2-1 result.

Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo netted the goals for La Roja, who were fully deserving of their eventual triumph based on the balance of play over the 90 minutes.

And yet, post-match, another of Spain’s chief attacking threats made his way into the headlines for altogether different reasons.

As much came in the thick of his country’s celebrations.

As De la Fuente’s men danced and cheered in front of their adoring fans at the Allianz Arena, a pitch invader attempted to make his way to the players.

And, in efforts to prevent as much, one of the security guards, completely by accident, slid into the leg of Álvaro Morata.

Frontman Morata was left in evident pain, limping away from the collision with a grimace, before being spotted as part of the Spanish team photo looking less than pleased.

Fingers crossed that no real damage was done!
