Spain king Felipe VI sends direct message to Barcelona star before Euro 2024 final
Felipe VI, king of Spain, on Wednesday made use of the opportunity to send a request to a member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona.
As much comes ahead of La Roja’s upcoming Euro 2024 final showdown with England.
Luis de la Fuente’s troops, of course, are fresh off booking their place in the Euro showpiece on Tuesday night.
Owing to goals on the part of Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal, and ex-Blaugrana talent Dani Olmo, Spain put star-studded France to the sword by two goals to one.
And yet, during a public appearance on Wednesday, it was another Barca star who was the recipient of a message on the part of Spain’s king.
In attendance at the Princess of Girona Foundation awards gala, Gavi at one point found himself locked in conversation with Felipe VI.
And, during as much, the latter called for the sidelined midfielder to make his way to Berlin, for Sunday’s Euro 2024 finale:
“See you at the final in Berlin. You can’t miss it, you are part of that team.”
