Spain boss De la Fuente reveals Toni Kroos frustration: ‘Should’ve seen red’

Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has on Friday revealed his frustration with Germany’s Toni Kroos.

As much comes owing to the retiring midfielder’s exploits during the meeting between the nations earlier this evening.

En route to Spain sending Germany packing from Euro 2024 courtesy of a 2-1 triumph, Kroos was guilty of a whole host of fouls across the 120 minutes.

He was ultimately shown a yellow card, but many are of the opinion that the 34-year-old should actually have been given his marching orders long before.

And one individual who shares such a viewpoint, as allude to above, comes in the form of Luis de la Fuente.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side booking their spot in the Euro semi-finals, Spain’s headmaster honed in on one particular Kroos challenge in particular.

Inside the opening five minutes of action in Stuttgart, the departing Real Madrid veteran took out Pedri in absolutely unceremonious fashion.

The Barcelona starlet was later forced to limp out of proceedings, with his manager adamant that the challenge in question should have culminated in an immediate dismissal.

“Kroos’ challenge on Pedri deserved a red card,” De la Fuente assured.
