Southampton have completed the signing of Birmingham City’s utility player Siobhan Wilson on a loan deal until the end of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Saints this evening.

The 30-year-old has a wealth of experience in the Barclays Women’s Championship after representing Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace and Birmingham City in the second tier. Wilson has 66 Barclays Women’s Championship appearances under her belt in which she has scored eight goals. Wilson is one of the most versatile players in the division. She can operate anywhere down the left side of the pitch.

Wilson has struggled for minutes at Birmingham City since overcoming an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury and she will be hoping to now get regular football under her belt at Southampton.

After joining The Saints, Wilson said “I’m excited to be here, it’s been nice to be around the girls and see the training facilities, so I’m excited to get started.

“For me, it’s about getting consistency with game time and trying to get back on the pitch, I’m feeling good and ready. I want to help the team as much as I can, whether that’s providing assists or whatever I can do to add value.”

Wilson is Southampton’s second signing of the January transfer window.
