South Carolina a single-digit underdog for this week’s home game against Ole Miss
South Carolina is returning to action from its first bye week. Ole Miss is coming off its first loss of the season.
They’ll meet this Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium, with the Rebels opening up as the betting favorite.
Ole Miss (4-1) is a nine-point favorite over the home-team Gamecocks (3-1), according to the early odds released Sunday by Vegas sportsbook Circa Sports. The over-under for points scored is 51.5.
That betting line likely softened a bit with Ole Miss losing 20-17 at home this weekend to unranked Kentucky. The Rebels dropped from No. 6 to No. 12 Sunday in the newest Associated Press Top 25 poll.
South Carolina defeated Akron 50-7 in the Gamecocks’ last game Sept. 21, with backup QB Robby Ashford leading the team to the dominant victory.
This weekend’s game against Ole Miss will be USC’s third time as the betting underdog this season.
