South Carolina signs another D-tackle from transfer portal
After losing seven defensive starters, South Carolina is still reloading.
On Saturday morning, the Gamecocks signed their sixth defensive transfer, inking Bowling Green State transfer defensive tackle Davonte Miles.
Miles, who will begin his junior year at South Carolina, played in 11 games for Bowling Green this past season, racking up a dozen tackles and one tackle for loss. A former three-star prospect from Missouri, the 6-foot-5, 275-pound Miles committed to Bowling Green after playing both defensive tackle and left tackle in high school.
He is the second transfer defensive tackle to commit to the Gamecocks this cycle, joining Texas A&M transfer Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy.
That pair will have a chance to start immediately with the departure of South Carolina’s top three defensive tackles — TJ Sanders, Tonka Hemingway and Alex Huntley — from 2024.
