Sources: ‘New contacts’ made for forgotten Chelsea man ahead of January pursuit
There have been new contacts made for one forgotten Chelsea man ahead of a potential pursuit to try and sign him in the winter transfer window this January.
That is according to our own writer Simon Phillips’ sources, who have updated him on the situation today.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea’s transfer plans for new full backs revealed!!
Phillips has put the updates out in full on his own website today.
There will be a few situations going on as we approach January, one of which will be current players who are already at the club seeking moves away to get regular first team football.
Carney Chukwuemeka will certainly be placed in that category this winter. There was even late links to Turkey in the summer.
AC Milan keen on Carney
Phillips reports that Italian side AC Milan are still keen on bringing Chuwkuemeka in, and are going to try again in January after failing to land him in the summer.
‘Chelsea at that point [in the summer] were pushing the player [Carney Chukwuemeka] to move to AC Milan, who were also keen and probably had a more suitable offer that Chelsea wanted to do, on the table.’ Phillips wrote today.
‘Carney wants to move because he obviously wants to play football, and he was keen on a move to Crystal Palace as the idea of staying in London appealed to him the most.
‘And now, SPTC sources have heard that AC Milan still want to sign Carney, and we believe that it would be a permanent deal, or at least a loan with an obligation to buy.
‘We also heard that they have had new contacts with his reps and are trying to convince him to make the jump abroad, citing the success of other former Chelsea players who made the same jump, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori, and Christian Pulisic.
‘AC Milan will try again to sign him in January. We will see what develops.’
