A Source Is Out Here Claiming Taylor Swift and Matty Healy Were “Always Casual” Amid Their Breakup

The news that pretty much the entire internet was waiting for has finally arrived: Taylor Swift and Matty Healy have broken up after one truly womp month of dating, prompting, “WE’RE FREE” to trend.

TMZ was the first to report the news on June 5, simply informing everyone that “a friend close to the situation” had confirmed that Taylor is single.

But People has since chimed in with a source saying, “She had fun with him, but it was always casual,” which...okay! This also follows a source telling Entertainment Tonight, “Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realized they’re not really compatible with each other. Taylor’s friends want what’s best for her and aren’t shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship.”

Just FYI, as recently as May 29, a source told Us Weekly, “Taylor has been spending much more time with Matty lately and she’s getting to like him the more she gets to know him. Although they briefly dated in the past, it was so long ago, so she feels like she’s learning new things about him all over again.”

They also noted, “It’s so refreshing, and she’s happier than she’s been in a long time. Things between them are fairly new, so it’s hard to tell if they’ll go the distance. But he makes Taylor really happy, and she wants to be with him whenever she has the chance.”
