Solanke earns England recall as Carsley announces October squad
Interim England boss Lee Carsley has announced his squad for their Nations League fixtures later this month.
Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke has been included in an international squad for the first time in seven years, previously appearing off the bench against Brazil in 2017 for his only cap to date.
Despite impressing of late, Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers has not made the senior cut and will take part in U21 duty, while there is also no place for Harry Maguire, James Maddison, Jarrod Bowen or Ivan toney.
Solanke deserved #ENG recall. In form, 3 goals in last 3 games #THFC. One previous cap, 15 mins v Brazil 2017. Walker returns. No specialist l-b; Colwill will play there. Livramento overlooked. No Toney, Maguire, Maddison, Bowen. Nor Morgan Rogers, bit unlucky given #AVFC form. pic.twitter.com/Xr4HTdy0SD
