Sky Sport: United now want to sign ‘superb finisher’ from Euro giants on one condition
Manchester United could reinforce their attack before the transfer window closes next week, according to Sky Sport Germany.
The Red Devils have not made any major signings this winter, but that will change in the coming days.
The club have reached a verbal agreement with Lecce for the transfer of Danish left-back Patrick Dorgu.
Sky Sport Germany now report that United are considering a move for Bayern Munich wonderkid Mathys Tel.
The 19-year-old has decided to leave the Bundesliga giants before Monday’s transfer deadline.
United are prepared to swoop for his services if Alejandro Garnacho or Marcus Rashford leave the club.
Tel would be a superb signing for United
The Red Devils have lacked the cutting edge in the final third this campaign. They have been guilty of squandering clear-cut chances.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been unconvincing leading the line, and manager Ruben Amorim may want a new solution.
Tel would be a perfect candidate for the role. He has just one assist from 390 minutes, but he is a vastly better player with regular game time.
The teenager has played second fiddle to Harry Kane up front at Bayern. He has now decided to pursue a new challenge in his young career.
Tel, who made 16 goal contributions last campaign, is gifted with plenty of pace and can dribble past his opponents. He is pretty versatile on the pitch.
Aside from the centre-forward role, he can operate on the right or left wing.
The Frenchman generates plenty of power in his shots and has been described as a ‘superb finisher‘ by Bayern Munich legend Thomas Muller.
There is a high possibility that one of Garnacho and Rashford could leave this winter. The latter is the likely candidate after his fall-out with Amorim.
Tel is open to all possible options to leave Bayern. United could propose a short-term loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.
