Sky Germany: Milan battling RB Leipzig and Aston Villa for Caen winger
AC Milan have been mentioned as one of the teams in the running to sign SM Caen starlet Tidiam Gomis, among others around Europe.
According to what is being reported by Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, RB Leipzig are pushing to sign ‘top talent’ Tidiam Gomis from Caen in France, and they are currently in a ‘strong position’ to do so at the moment.
However, Milan and Aston Villa are also in the race and ‘nothing has been signed yet’, so it remains to be seen if there is an acceleration from either the Rossoneri or the Premier League club given Leipzig’s advances.
Discussions are ongoing regarding a transfer in the winter window, or whether it will be a simple Bosman move at the end of the season when his contract with SM Caen runs out.
It is not clear at the moment whether Milan would be signing the teenager for their Futuro side or if they believe that he is already worthy of a spot in the first team.
Gomis has two goals and two assists in Ligue 2 this season, while his overall record for the first team is four goals and two assists in 36 games. He scored 11 goals in 34 for their U19 team.
