Sky: Chelsea “in discussions” with Premier League side over important loan switch
All eyes are on Chelsea’s game with Manchester City later today, but that hasn’t stopped a new transfer story breaking through this morning.
Sky Sports News in the UK are reporting that Armando Broja, the Chelsea striker on loan at Everton, could see that deal terminated after he picked up yet another serious injury which will rule him out almost until the end of the season.
Everton are in discussions with Chelsea over the possible return of striker Armando Broja 🚨
One option being discussed is Everton taking another Chelsea player to replace Broja with both Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka a possibility 🔵 pic.twitter.com/SVUQfs2jWM

Both sides need to agree to the termination, so there is going to have to be some negotiation. And there could be a further twist, with Everton considering swapping Broja with another player Chelsea are happy to let go on loan – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka are both mentioned.
Why an exchange with Everton could help all parties
From Chelsea’s point of view, they want all their players with little to no chance of playing to be on loan. Broja’s injury means there’s not much value leaving him with the Toffees just to do rehab for the rest of the campaign. Bringing him back means we have to pay his wages, but if Everton take a different player in return it’s a move that works out for both parties.
David Moyes will be desperate to add a little bit of quality to his squad as he looks to reshape Everton and get them clear of relegation danger, and there are a number of Chelsea players (including KDH and Chukwuemeka) who could do just that.
As for poor Armando – he’s not going to be playing much (if at all) this season, so he may as well recover at Cobham. His career continues to spiral negatively having sparked so brightly to start with.
