Arisa Trew, a 14-year-old from Australia, just won gold in the Women's Skateboarding Park Final, making her Australia's youngest medalist in history and the youngest medalists at the 2024 Olympics.

According to the Olympic Games X account, Trew is currently the youngest medalist at the Paris Games, joining the ranks of fellow teens like 16-year-old Hezly Rivera, who won gold with the U.S. women's gymnastics team. While there are tons of Gen-Zers competing on the world stage this year, skateboarding also featured the youngest athlete at the Paris Games — China's 11-year-old Zheng Haohao. Still, it was Trew who earned the gold medal on Tuesday, also edging out 16-year-old Sky Brown of Great Britain (bronze) and 15-year-old Kokona Hiraki of Japan (silver). Together, the three made up an all Gen-Z podium.

Trew is no stranger to making history. In May, she became the first woman to land a 900, a trick that features two-and-a-half rotations in the air. And in 2023, she became the first woman to land a 720 when she was just 13. Now, she's Australia's youngest ever Olympic gold medalist, and part of what seems to be the youngest podium so far at the 2024 Olympics. She clinched the title with a score of 93.18, a score earned on her third run, taking her from third place all the way to the top spot. She of course did it while wearing her signature pink helmet and knee pads.

The young winner is fitting for a young Olympic sport. Skateboarding made its debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where young people also dominated the field. Brown and Hiraki both attended the sports Olympic debut, earning bronze and silver respectively. At those Games, Hiraki was the youngest medalist at age 12 — and in fact, the youngest Olympic medalist in the last 85 years. If making history wasn't enough, skateboarders at those Games also made waves with their very cool uniforms. They really can do it all!
