There is a return to the national team squad for Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret, who replaces Michele Di Gregorio, but is unlikely to start over Gianluigi Donnarumma or Guglielmo Vicario.
Juventus Next Gen graduate Nicolo Savona has earned his first call-up to the senior national team. The emerging Bianconeri right-back was included in Carmine Nunziata’s U21 squad in October.
There is another first call-up to the senior team for 19-year-old Fiorentina centre-back Pietro Comuzzo, who is included after just 13 career appearances in Serie A.
Federico Gatti is also back in the Juventus squad following injuries to fellow centre-backs Riccardo Calafiori and Mattia Gabbia.
Nicolo Barella has returned as well. He skipped the October Nations League matches to have a pre-arranged operation on his nose to help with his breathing and circulation.
Lazio midfielder Nicolo Rovella has earned his first call-up to the national team squad as well thanks to his role in the strong Biancocelesti start to the 2024-25 season.
