Jannik Sinner is eyeing back-to-back titles as faces Alexander Zverev in the Australian Open men’s singles final.

The Italian won his first Grand Slam in Melbourne 12 months ago before adding the US Open to his collection later in the year, and he now has the chance to defend his crowd and extend his hard-court dominance.

Sinner has not lost a match since he was beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the China Open on October 2, as he finished his season by winning the Shanghai Masters and ATP World Tour Finals.

That form has been carried into the Melbourne, where Sinner has dropped only one set. That came when the world number one was battling illness in his fourth-round victory over Holger Rune.

He now faces Zverev in the final, with the German well-rested after Novak Djokovic withdrew from their semi-final clash after only one set.

Zverev had a two-set lead in the 2020 US Open final but lost to Dominic Thiem, and was two sets to one up against Carlos Alcaraz at the French Open final last year before ultimately falling to defeat. He now has a third shot at a Grand Slam title.

Sinner vs Zverev start time

The men’s singles final between Sinner and Zverev will take place on Sunday January 26, 2025.

The players will walk out onto Rod Laver Arena at 8:30am GMT.
