From gymnastics to beach volleyball to skateboarding, find out when to watch the biggest events for Team USA at the Paris Games

After years of anticipation, the 2024 Paris Olympics are finally here!

The City of Light is hosting around 10,500 athletes from 206 countries around the globe over two and a half weeks of competition, which kick off the evening of Friday, July 26 with the opening ceremony (plus two bonus days of competition for a few sports before the torch is lit in Paris).

The U.S. is expected to take home the most medals, as they have since the 1996 Games in Atlanta, as stars like Simone Biles, Diana Taurasi, Katie Ledecky and LeBron James, among many others, go for gold.

Wednesday, July 24 (Day -2)

Soccer

  • Men’s group stage, USA-France (3 p.m. ET)

Team USA soccer debuts in Marseille with a men’s group-stage soccer match against the host country France, with a squad including Walker Zimmerman, Miles Robinson and Kevin Paredes.

Thursday, July 25 (Day -1)

Soccer

  • Women’s group stage, USA-Zambia (3 p.m. ET)

The women’s squad for Team USA soccer takes the stage in a match against Zambia, seeking its record-fifth gold medal with a squad minus some of its best former Olympians.

Friday, July 26 (Day 0)

Opening Ceremony (1:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. ET)

For the first time in Summer Games history, the Parade of Nations will take place outside of an arena, with athletes instead sailing down the River Seine in boats towards the Eiffel Tower. NBA star LeBron James and Coco Gauff lead Team USA’s Olympians as flagbearers, and they'll march second-to-last as per Olympiad tradition for the host country of the next Summer Olympics.

Saturday, July 27 (Day 1)

Gymnastics

  • Men’s qualifiers (5 a.m. - 2 p.m. ET)

The men’s artistic gymnastics squad begins their Paris Games at the qualifiers with a talented squad comprised of returning Tokyo 2020 athlete Brody Malone, along with Fred Richard, Asher Hong, Paul Juda and pommel horse specialist Stephen Nedoroscik.

Diving

  • Women’s synchronized 3m springboard final (5 a.m. ET, NBC)

Competing together for Team USA in the first medal event for diving are Kassidy Cook and Sarah Bacon — with Cook returning for her second Olympics and Bacon making her Olympic debut.

Swimming

  • Men’s 400m freestyle final (2:42 p.m. ET)

  • Women’s 400m freestyle final (2:52 p.m. ET)

In the first batch of swimming finals in Paris, Team USA has several athletes going for the gold — with Aaron Shackell and Kieran Smith competing in the men’s 400m freestyle while seven-time Olympic gold medal winner Katie Ledecky and Paige Madden take on the women’s 400m freestyle.

Sunday, July 28 (Day 2)

Gymnastics

  • Women’s qualifiers (3:30 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. ET)

Team USA’s talented roster for women’s artistic gymnastics gets things going at the Summer Games with celebrated Olympian and four-time gold medal winner Simone Biles and Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee, as well as Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera.

Skateboarding

  • Women’s street finals (11 a.m. ET)

The women’s street skateboarding finals kick off at 11 a.m. with Team USA sending three athletes: Mariah Duran, Poe Pinson and 16-year-old Paige Heyn, who ranks 10th in the world going into the Summer Games.

Basketball

  • Men’s group stage, USA-Serbia (11:15 a.m. ET)

The Team USA men’s basketball team kicks off their time in Paris with a match against Serbia — boasting a star-studded roster with flagbearer Lebron James at the helm, as well as other NBA stars Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum and Anthony Edwards among others.

Monday, July 29 (Day 3)

Volleyball

  • Women’s preliminaries, USA-China (11 a.m. ET)

The women’s volleyball squad for Team USA takes on China for its first match in Paris, led by gold medalist and Tokyo MVP Jordan Larson as team captain. Also on this year’s roster are returning Olympians Kelsey Robinson Cook at outside hitter, middle blocker Chiaka Ogbogu, middle blocker Haleigh Washington and setter Jordyn Poulter.

Gymnastics

  • Men’s team final (11:30 a.m. ET)

Team USA takes on its first medal event for the Paris Games in male gymnastics in the team final hoping to secure a medal, which they missed out on at the Tokyo Games.

Basketball

  • Women’s group stage, USA-Japan (3 p.m. ET)

The talented Team USA women’s basketball team begins their Olympic group stage against Japan, featuring WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner, who will play her first game overseas since being imprisoned in Russia in 2022.

Tuesday, July 30 (Day 4)

3x3 Basketball

  • Women’s: USA-Germany (11:30 a.m. ET)

  • Men’s: USA-Serbia (4:35 p.m. ET)

The women’s and men’s 3x3 basketball squads for Team USA begin their first round of games against Germany and Serbia respectively, with Hailey van Lith, Cierra Burdick, Rhyne Howard and Dearica Hamby representing the women’s team while Kareem Maddox, Jimmer Fredette, Dylan Travis and Canyon Barry lead the men’s squad.

Gymnastics

  • Women’s team final (12:15 p.m. ET)

Team USA’s women’s gymnastics team seeks another successful performance at the team final, after securing a silver medal in the event at the Tokyo Games in 2020.

Swimming

  • Women’s 100m backstroke final (2:56 p.m. ET)

  • Men’s 800m freestyle final (3:02 p.m. ET)

In another batch of swimming finals, Team USA’s Regan Smith and Katharine Berkoff face off in the 100m backstroke while Bobby Finke and Luke Whitlock take on the men’s 800m freestyle.

Wednesday, July 31 (Day 5)

Diving

  • Women’s synchronized 10m platform final (5 a.m. ET)

Jessica Parratto and Delaney Schnell return as partners in the women’s synchronized 10m platform, hoping to secure another medal after the duo earned Team USA its first-ever Olympic medal in the event during the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Gymnastics

  • Men’s all-around final (11:30 a.m. ET)

The men’s gymnastics squad for Team USA competes for a medal in the all-around event final.

Swimming

  • Women’s 100m freestyle final (2:30 p.m. ET)

  • Men’s 200m butterfly final (2:36 p.m. ET)

Team USA hopes to have some more representation at the next batch of swimming finals, with Gretchen Walsh and Torri Huske competing in the women’s 100m freestyle while Thomas Heilman and Luca Urlando swim in the 200m butterfly.

Basketball

  • Men’s group stage, USA-South Sudan (3 p.m. ET)

Team USA men’s basketball takes on its second opponent at the Paris Games, South Sudan, whom they almost lost two in a pre-Olympics friendly match.

Thursday, August 1 (Day 6)

Gymnastics

  • Women’s all-around final (12:15 p.m. ET)

Team USA’s women’s gymnastics squad pursues the gold again in the same event that Suni Lee placed first in during the Tokyo Games.

Swimming

  • Women’s 200m butterfly final (2:30 p.m. ET)

  • Men’s 200m backstroke final (2:37 p.m. ET)

  • Women’s 200m breaststroke final (3:04 p.m. ET)

In August’s first batch of swimming finals, Team USA’s Regan Smith and Alex Shackell hope to tackle the women’s 200m butterfly, Keaton Jones and Ryan Murphy aim for the 200m backstroke and Kate Douglass and Lilly King are expected to compete in the women’s 200m breaststroke.

Basketball

  • Women’s group stage, USA-Belgium (3 p.m. ET)

Team USA women’s basketball takes on Belgium in their second matchup of the Paris Games.

Friday, August 2 (Day 7)

3x3 Basketball

  • Women’s: USA-France (7 a.m. ET)

  • Women’s: USA-Canada (12 p.m. ET)

  • Men’s: USA-France (12:35 p.m. ET)

Team USA’s 3x3 basketball squads have a long day, with the women’s squad playing a double header against France and Canada while the men’s team takes on France.

Swimming

  • Men’s 50m freestyle final (2:30 p.m. ET)

  • Women’s 200m backstroke final (2:36 p.m. ET)

  • Men’s 200m individual medley final (2:43 p.m. ET)

Caeleb Dressel and Chris Guiliano lead the way for Team USA in the men’s 50m freestyle, while Phoebe Bacon and Regan Smith compete in the women’s 200m backstroke and Shaine Casas and Carson Foster take on the men’s 200m individual medley.

Track and Field

  • Men’s 10,000m final (3:20 p.m. ET)

In the third track and field event final for the Paris Games (the men’s and women’s 20km race walk being the first two finals), Team USA’s Woody Kincaid, Grant Fisher and Nico Young take on the men’s 10,000m.

Saturday, August 3 (Day 8)

Track and Field

  • Women’s 100m semi-final (1:50 p.m. ET)

  • Women’s triple jump final (2:20 p.m. ET)

  • 4x400m relay mixed final (2:55 p.m. ET)

  • Women’s 100m final (3:20 p.m. ET)

In a big day for women’s track and field, Team USA has some solid representation. In the women’s 100m, Sha’Carri Richardson is expected to win gold alongside Team USA athletes Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry, while in the triple jump, Tori Franklin, Jasmine Moore and Keturah Orji go for the gold. Quincy Wilson, the youngest-ever male named to the Team USA track and field squad, joins Isabella Marie Whittaker, Shamier Little and Bryce Deadmon in the 4x400 mixed relay final.

Gymnastics

  • Men’s floor exercise final (9:30 a.m. ET)

  • Women’s vault final (10:20 a.m. ET)

  • Men’s pommel horse final (11:16 a.m. ET)

In a batch of gymnastics finals, Team USA competes in the men’s floor exercise, the women’s vault and the men’s pommel horse, a specialty for Team USA’s Stephen Nedoroscik.

Basketball

  • Men’s group stage, USA-Puerto Rico (11:15 a.m. ET)

In their third matchup for the Summer Games, Team USA takes on Puerto Rico in men’s basketball.

Sunday, August 4 (Day 9)

Gymnastics

  • Men’s rings final (9 a.m. ET)

  • Women’s uneven bars final (9:40 a.m. ET)

  • Men’s vault final (10:24 a.m. ET)

The next round of gymnastics finals features Team USA taking on the men’s rings, the men’s vault and the women’s uneven bars, in which Suni Lee secured a bronze medal at the Tokyo Summer Games.

Swimming

  • Women’s 50m freestyle final (12:30 p.m. ET)

  • Men’s 1500m freestyle final (12:36 p.m. ET)

In the final round of swimming finals at the Paris Games, Team USA’s Gretchen Walsh and Simone Manuel swim in the women’s 50m freestyle, while David Johnston and Bobby Finke compete in the men’s 1500m freestyle.

  • Women’s balance beam final (6:38 a.m. ET)

  • Men’s horizontal bar final (7:33 a.m. ET)

  • Women’s floor exercise final (8:23 a.m. ET)

The final set of gymnastics finals has Team USA’s men’s squad competing in the parallel bars and horizontal bar, while the women’s team tackles the balance beam and floor exercise — in which Simone Biles placed bronze and Jade Carey placed gold respectively during the Tokyo Games.

Track and Field

  • Women’s 5000m final (3:10 p.m. ET)

  • Women’s 800m final (3:45 p.m. ET)

In Monday’s set of track and field finals, Elise Cranny, Whittni Morgan and Karissa Schweizer compete for Team USA in the 5000m while Nia Akins, Juliette Whittaker and Allie Wilson are hopefuls for the 800m final.

Tuesday, August 6 (Day 11)

Diving

  • Women’s 10m platform final (9 a.m. ET)

For the women’s 10m platform, Team USA sends out Daryn Wright and Delaney Schnell, who placed fifth in the event during the Tokyo Games.

Track and Field

  • Men’s 1500m final (2:50 p.m. ET)

  • Women’s 200m final (3:40 p.m. ET)

Team USA has some solid representation during Tuesday’s track and field events, with Cole Hocker, Hobbs Kessler and Yared Nuguse racing in the men’s 1500m while Brittany Brown, McKenzie Long and Gabby Thomas compete in the women’s 200m.

Saturday, August 10 (Day 15)

Basketball

  • Men’s gold medal game (3:30 p.m. ET)

Team USA's star-studded roster will hope to win gold at the final for Olympic men’s basketball in Paris .

In the final match for soccer, Team USA will aim to be on the pitch to secure their fifth gold medal.

Track and Field

  • Men’s 5000m final (2 p.m. ET)

As track and field wraps up at the Paris Games, Team USA hopes to make the finals in the men’s 800m, men’s 5000m and women’s 1500m events. Nikki Hiltz and Elle Purrier St. Pierre are ones to watch in the women's 1500m.

Marathon

  • Men's marathon (2 a.m. ET)

Training partners Clayton Young and Connor Mantz look to shake up the competition and earn Team USA's first medal in the men's marathon since 2016.
