Milan ultras chose to remain silent during their team’s home match against Parma as a different form of protest against the club and, specifically, owner Gerry Cardinale, who had recently been targeted by dissent chants.

The Rossoneri are facing the relegation-threatened side at the San Siro, with the voices of the visiting fans in the third tier being the only background noise accompanying the action on the pitch.

As reported by Milannews, fans in the Curva Sud are standing in silence to express their discontent with how Cardinale and Milan’s directors are running the club, creating a surreal atmosphere.

The Rossoneri supporters had already protested against the American owner in recent games, even during Milan’s 125th anniversary, with chants like ‘Cardinale, you have to sell’ and ‘This club doesn’t deserve us’ coming from the ultras section in the second tier.

Milan president Paolo Scaroni urged the fans to stop insulting Cardinale and support the team before the game, with coach Sergio Conceiçao also recently claiming his side needs backing from the supporters.
