Pep Guardiola says City’s three new signings are settling in well to life at the Club despite the demanding fixture schedule.

After welcoming defensive duo Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis through the door earlier this week, the Blues then secured the signature of prolific Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush on Thursday morning.

And the boss hinted that our new trio could all be available for selection ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Chelsea, which is set to get under way at 17:30 (UK).

The demands of a midweek UEFA Champions League clash at Paris Saint-Germain mean Khusanov, Reis and Marmoush are yet to train with the full squad, but Guardiola says he’s been impressed with what he’s seen so far.

He said: “We didn't train much because we travelled, games, travel so we didn’t make a training session all together.

Omar Marmoush was the first and the other ones trained a little bit but not all together. But they’re fine, Vitor is young, has a huge personality but needs time.

“Khusanov is already settled for the fact of playing in the French league and handling tough, fast players. He doesn’t speak much English, more French, so communication will one of the situations we have to deal with.

“And Omar, yesterday was the first training session and I think he'll adapt quickly.”

Just two points separate City and Chelsea ahead of Saturday’s showdown at the Etihad, with the Blues potentially moving back into the top four with a victory.

It promises to be an exciting clash, and Guardiola didn’t shy away from describing the potential significance of its outcome.

Indeed, he’s under no illusions of the threats our opponents could potentially pose.

“Yeah, [it’s a] really important [game]. The quality of the side, always Chelsea have been," Guardiola added.

“They’re close in the table even with the big problems we've had in the past, recent past.

“This week is really important and the next two games are finals for us. With our people, they’re going to support us to do the good performance to take the results that we need.”
