Tosin Adarabioyo has impressed Chelsea staff over the first few days of pre-season training under Enzo Maresca according to reports.

Adarabioyo was Chelsea’s first summer signing after he joined from neighbours Fulham on a free transfer to help bolster the club’s defensive options.

The 26-year-old will be competing for a place in Chelsea’s startling line-up with the likes of Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah if he remains at the club.

Chelsea returned to pre-season training on Monday to begin preparations for the new campaign, and they head off to America later this month for games against Wrexham, Club America, Celtic, Real Madrid and Manchester City, before taking on Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge a week before the season begins.

Other than Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Conor Gallagher and Marc Cucurella who are on international duty Maresca virtually has a full squad available to him which is a huge plus.

New signings and injured stars have been seen getting put through their paces, and the Italian appears to be a very hands on coach who gets involved in the training sessions.

Every player will be looking to make a good impression but the new signings will be particularly keen to impress Maresca and their new team-mates.

Mail Sport have reported that Chelsea staff have been impressed with Adarabioyo over the first few days of pre-season and coaches have praised him for the way he’s applied himself and how quickly he’s adapted to his new surroundings.
