The 19th-ranked University of Kentucky men’s basketball team defeated No. 6 Duke 77-72 in the 2024 Champions Classic at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats made 25 of 62 shots from the field (40.3%), 10 of 25 from 3-point range (40%) and 17 of 24 from the free-throw line (70.8%) during first-year coach Mark Pope’s first game against a Top 25 opponent.
The Blue Devils connected on 28 of 71 from the field (39.4%), 4 of 23 3-pointers (17.4%) and 12 of 17 foul shots (70.6%).
