When will Ohtani make his spring training debut?
Ohtani's spring training debut with the Dodgers will be Tuesday, Feb. 27 against the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch in Peoria, Arizona, at 3:05 p.m. ET.
When Ohtani does make his debut, it will likely be a reflection of how the Dodgers' lineup will look all season. Roberts said, "It’s a safe bet to assume Mookie Betts will hit leadoff, and the first lineup with Ohtani will be an indication of how the order is going to be," wrote USA Today's Bob Nightengale.
How to watch Ohtani's debut
The game will be televised on MLB.TV, MLB Network as well as SportsNet LA at 3:05 p.m. ET.
Who will Ohtani face?
Garrett Crochet is expected to start for the White Sox. The left hander has faced Ohtani twice during his career in 2021 and 2023 and struck him out both times. Last season Crochet made 13 relief appearances and posted a 3.55 ERA while striking out 12 over 12 ⅔ innings.
Where will Ohtani bat in the Dodgers lineup?
The Dodgers lineup has been posted and Ohtani will be sandwiched between to former MVPs. Othani, a two-time MVP himself, will bat second behind Mookie Betts and before Freddie Freeman.
