Sharks Top Defenseman Won't Play Against The Wild

The San Jose Sharks (4-8-2) announced that their top defenseman will not play against the Minnesota Wild (8-2-2).

Jake Walman sat out in the Sharks' last game due to a coaching decision. He was expected to return tonight against the Wild but will now miss the game with an upper-body injury.

Sharks' head coach Ryan Warsofsky told reporters on Wednesday that his decision wasn't based on play. Warsofsky said tonight's absence is unrelated to the coach's decision on Nov. 5.

Walman, 28, leads all Sharks defensemen in points with nine, including seven in his last four games.
