Sharks Top Defenseman Out For Third Straight Game

San Jose Sharks No. 1 defenseman Jake Walman will not play against the New Jersey Devils tonight. This is his third straight game missed, the second due to injury.

Walman took part in morning skate and hasn't missed a practice since picking up an upper-body injury against the Vancouver Canucks on Nov. 2. He sat out on Nov. 5 against the Columbus Blue Jackets for a non-hockey reason.

With this upper-body injury, He missed the Sharks' next game against the Minnesota Wild on Nov. 7.

Head coach Ryan Warsofsky told reporters that Walman was a game-time decision. The bench boss has shaken the defense pairings with his top defenseman out of the lineup.

Center Will Smith is a healthy scratch against the Devils as part of his development plan. The Sharks visit the Philadelphia Flyers tomorrow night.
