Sharks Head Coach Introduces Another Unorthodox Practice Method
Ryan Warsofsky introduced different practice methods for the San Jose Sharks this season and added another on Thursday.
Music was introduced at the start of practice early in the season, and although it isn't as frequent as it was during training camp, it makes plenty of appearances.

At the end of Thursday's practice, Warsofsky turned to a different audio over the speakers, crowd noise. This marked the first time Warsofsky played anything besides music during a drill this season.

"That's just usually what's going on in a hockey game," Warsofsky said. "I do some things that are a little outside the box, but at the same time, you've got to be mentally tough. When you don't connect on a pass, and the crowd gets into all those things. We're gonna be heading on the road here."
The Sharks will visit the Utah Hockey Club at the Delta Center on Friday. The arena is being renovated, and its current capacity for a hockey game is 11,131. Most of the crowd will be right on top of the ice. Utah HC is a new NHL team whose fans are wildly passionate.

Warsofsky, who generally looks at the very short term, allowed himself to look beyond tomorrow's game to see the San Jose Sharks' upcoming road trip and realize that the Delta Center won't be the only loud building the team visits.
The Sharks will play home on Saturday, then embark on a five-game road trip to face the Detroit Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets, Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, and the Nashville Predators.
"Utah is an energized building. [They are] a new fan base. On the trip, Columbus is a loud building. Boston [is a loud building]. So we gotta get used to it," Warsofsky said. "Gotta get mentally tough to go through some things. And when things aren't going our way, you gotta feel that and go through that."
"When we don't have execution [and] things don't go right, how do you work on throwing some different variables in there? So that's part of it."
The San Jose Sharks have a road record of 5-11-5 this season. The last time they were in Utah, the team won for the first time in the season, and it happened in a crazy comeback fashion.
