La Liga outfit Sevilla are closing on the signature of a fresh addition to the club’s midfield ranks.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Lucien Agoumé as the player all set for a return to Nervión.

Youngster Agoumé, for his part, spent the 2nd half of the recently-completed campaign plying his trade on loan with Sevilla, from Serie A giants Inter Milan.

And, after shaking off an early setback on the injury front, all told, the France youth international went on to enjoy a productive stint at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Owing to the club’s precarious financial situation, the Nervionenses brass were ultimately unable to activate their option to make Agoumé’s signing a permanent one.

But as much has not brought an end to the club’s efforts towards a return…

Recent weeks have seen it widely reported that Sevilla are pushing to bring Agoumé back, viewing the 22-year-old as the ideal addition to the engine room ranks of new boss García Pimienta.

And, on Monday, something of a breakthrough appears to have been found.

As per Fabrizio Romano:

‘Lucien Agoumé will become [a] new Sevilla player in the next hours, deal to be sealed this week.’

The transfer, this time round, is expected to come in the form of a permanent one, albeit at a reduced price from the €8 million previously sought out by Inter.
