It seems pretty clear that Prime Minister, and noted Montreal Canadiens fan, Justin Trudeau has seized control of the government of Canada’s Twitter account.

On Monday, ahead of the Canadiens’ opening game against the Vegas Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup semifinals, the government of Canada’s Twitter account tweeted out its support for the Habs by dubbing them 'Canada’s team' and stating 'All of Canada is behind you!'

One quick look at the replies tells you that not all of Canada is standing with the Canadiens.

While yes, Montreal is the only team remaining from the all-Canadian North Division, it’s also a team that has some pretty heated rivalries with other squads north of the border. After recent postseason battles, fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets likely aren’t ready to assume the Habs as their favourite team remaining. Additionally, supporters of the nearby rivals, the Ottawa Senators, probably don’t want to hear Canadiens fans bragging about another Stanley Cup championship, either.

Besides, Leafs fans still aren’t over the fact that just last week, the CN Tower adorned Montreal’s red and blue colours.
