Researcher Justin Wood says the range of black-legged ticks that carry the bacteria causing Lyme disease is expanding in Canada.

He says more ticks are born each year and the number of ticks in Canada will continue to increase.

A federal report confirms his findings, saying the increase is in part due to changes in climate contributing to the abundance and geographic range of black-legged tick populations in central and Eastern Canada. (7)

Experts say they are seeing "more and more" hate content created by artificial intelligence.

A journalist who works with the Canadian Anti-Hate Network says after A-I was used to generate ``extremely racist Pixar-style movie posters,'' some individuals printed the signs and posted them on the side of movie theatres.

A-I can create or alter pictures and videos, like producing a clip of Adolf Hitler speaking English that recently went viral on social media.

In Canada, there is federal legislation that the Liberal government says will help address the A-I hate content issue.

That includes Bill C-63, a proposed bill to address online harms. (7)

The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan is warning parties to stop fighting in the city where ``hundreds of thousands of women, men, and children are once again caught in the crossfire of war.''

She says--quote--``A human tragedy of epic proportions is on the horizon, but it can, and must, be prevented.'' (7)
