Seth Jones 'Really Turned A Corner' In Return To Blackhawks
Seth Jones has been out for over a month now and he is finally close to returning to the Chicago Blackhawks.
The anchor on defense has played just 17 games and last played on Nov. 14 against the Seattle Kraken. While Jones injured his foot in the game, he also explained how the adrenaline got him through the remainder of the game, only to really feel it after.
Jones said that he couldn't even get his foot in his skate at the 3.5 week mark, but now 10 days later, he is skating with the team and he said that he "really turned a corner."
The Blackhawks' d-man was worried that he wouldn't be back for the Winter Classic when he wasn't able to get his skate on, but is relieved he should be back for the game and is enjoying the anticipation for the game with the gear and look of the uniforms.

Jones said that there was a point where he just wanted to get better and he was coming in frustrated that it was the same as the day before. Hopefully this is the last more serious injury he has to go through this season so that the Blackhawks can get back on track, even if they don't make the playoffs.
Jones has two goals and 10 points in 17 games this season and should retake the role of number one defenseman upon his return to the lineup even though Alex Vlasic has stepped up in a major way. While nobody wants a player to get injured, it did create an opportunity for Vlasic to show what he is capable of and now the team seemingly has two d-men who can take on that top role moving forward.
Anders Sorensen said that he thought Jones looked good in practice on the team's off day, so he'll make a determination ahead of the game against the Calgary Flames. Wyatt Kaiser was sent down to the AHL yesterday, so the return of Jones is imminent.
The Blackhawks still have a few games before the Winter Classic, so expect Jones to be back in action in at least one of them, if not today.
