Ivan Juric might have to do without Paulo Dybala when Roma take on Venezia in Serie A on Sunday evening, so a young attacking line including Matias Soule and Tommaso Baldanzi could take centre-stage at the Stadio Olimpico instead.

Dybala was subbed off at half-time during Thursday’s Europa League draw against Athletic Club, and is understood to be struggling with fatigue rather than an injury, but Juric hinted that he could still be involved in some capacity on Sunday.

If Dybala does miss out, Baldanzi and Soule will be the go-to attackers in the supporting roles behind Artem Dovbyk.

Elsewhere, it is still expected to be a Giallorossi 3-4-2-1, which could feature Manu Kone and Bryan Cristante in midfield, both of whom also started against Athletic Club on Thursday.

Venezia also tend to use a back three system, and are unlikely to make too many changes following last week’s 2-0 win over Genoa, their first victory of the 2024-25 campaign.

Hans Nicolussi Cavigllia is back from suspension though, and could take back his starting spot in midfield.

Kick-off is due at 14.00 BST.
