Poule Scudetto

Sassuolo 1-0 Fiorentina

Fiorentina’s hopes of achieving Champions League qualification received a setback in Saturday’s away meeting with Sassuolo. The contest looked destined to finish in a goalless draw until Chiara Beccari netted a dramatic 91st-minute winner.

The substitute drove towards the edge of the box before cutting inside onto her right foot to send a fierce strike beyond Rachele Baldi. Sassuolo move up to fourth spot with the win, while Fiorentina are now five points adrift of second-placed Juventus.

Inter 3-3 Juventus

Inter and Juventus had to settle for a share of the spoils in Sunday’s exhilarating Derby d’Italia. Flaminia Simonetti kept her composure from the penalty spot to put Inter in front in the 17th minute.

Cristiana Girelli spurned the chance to restore parity in the 34th minute when she drove her penalty against the upright. Fortunately for the Juventus striker, she was presented with another chance to score from the spot before the half-time break. On this occasion, Girelli calmly slotted home to register her ninth league goal of the season.

The hosts restored their lead within five minutes of the restart. Henrietta Csiszár won the ball back in the Juventus box before setting up Michela Cambiaghi for a simple finish. The visitors ultimately produced a defiant response, scoring two goals in six minutes to turn the game in their favour.

Arianna Caruso tapped in from close range shortly before Jennifer Echegini diverted the ball home from Lineth Beerensteyn’s cut-back. Juventus appeared to be on their way to collecting all three points until Inter hit back in the 86th minute. Annamaria Serturini swept the ball in at the near post to ensure the thrilling contest ended in a draw. Second-placed Juventus are now seven points adrift of leaders Roma, who have a game in hand over their title rivals.

Poule Salvezza

Pomigliano 0-5 Sampdoria

Sampdoria produced a dominant display against Pomigliano to collect their sixth win of the Serie A season. The visitors took a narrow lead into the break following Iris Rabot’s own goal. Tori DellaPeruta then produced a sublime second-half performance to take the game away from the hosts. The forward sent a thumping header beyond Anna James Buhigas within the opening 60 seconds of the second period.

DellaPeruta then grabbed her second before she headed in from an inswinging free-kick to complete her hat-trick in the 85th minute. There was still time for the striker to round off a memorable outing by firing home her fourth goal after being teed up by her sister Talia DellaPeruta. Sampdoria are now 14 points clear of the bottom two, while Pomigliano are left propping up the table with just six points to their name.

Como 1-1 Napoli

After playing out a goalless first half, Como took the lead within four minutes of the restart. Napoli defender Tecla Pettenuzzo inadvertently diverted the ball into her own net from Danielle Cox’s cut-back. Como’s slender advantage lasted 20 minutes until Elisa Del Estal netted her fifth league goal of the season. The former Sevilla forward showed her goalscoring instincts to anticipate Paloma Lázaro’s low cross and prod the ball home with her right foot.

The draw takes Napoli’s tally to seven points, leaving them in the relegation playoff spot. As for Como, they are in sixth position and 15 points clear of the Serie A bottom two.
