According to Jorge Picon, it has come to light that Como is still keeping a close watch on the potential signing of Barcelona’s young defender, Alex Valle, who is currently on loan at Celtic.

However, they are waiting for approval from Celtic, who seem hesitant to release him. Despite this, Valle is keen on the idea of joining Cesc Fabregas’ team, and there is hope that the deal could materialise in the near future.

In recent weeks, Como made initial contact with Celtic to discuss a loan move for Valle for the second half of the season.

The Italian club identified an opportunity after Celtic’s plans to re-sign Kieran Tierney from Arsenal. This move could potentially free up space for Valle to leave Celtic on loan, paving the way for him to join Como.

Barcelona, where Valle is contracted, have shown no objections to the possibility of the young defender switching clubs mid-season.

The Catalan club is fully aware of the situation and has given its approval for the loan. Barcelona’s sporting department supports the idea of Valle playing for Como, believing it will provide him with the ideal environment to grow and develop further.

However, Barcelona have also made it clear that the loan would only be for six months. This is because coach Hansi Flick wants Valle to return in time to take part in the first team’s pre-season preparations for the next campaign.

Valle had previously extended his contract with Barcelona for an additional year before heading out on loan to Celtic. His current contract with the club now runs until June 2026.

The move to Como could be an exciting opportunity for Valle, providing him with valuable experience in Serie A. If the deal goes through, it would be a good step forward in his development as he continues his journey at Barcelona.
