Seider, Raymond, and Training Camp Looms: The Silky Mitten State Episode 37

The Silky Mitten State is back! After an impromptu summer break, THN Detroit's hit podcast has returned to address and unpack all of the important Red Wing stories on our minds as training camp creeps into clear view on the horizon.

We open the show with a word of love and remembrance for the late Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, expressing our condolences and reminiscing on the positive impact the former left all over the NHL.

From there, we move into the far more trivial matter of Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider's as-of-yet still unsigned contracts. We discuss the relative importance of timing versus term and dollar figure, as well as the road to getting these deals done.

From there, we work our way through a series of questions for the Red Wings to answer at training camp. How do you maximize Alex DeBrincat and Vladimir Tarasenko? Who will play with Seider, once he's signed, on the Red Wings' top pair? What's next for Justin Holl? How can Marco Kasper, Jonatan Berggren, and Nate Danielson make an impact?

We discuss all that and more, before wrapping up the show with a quick conversation of the short and long-term future of Bally Sports Detroit, which appears to have extended its shelf life at least one season longer.
